  Film 1

This was the beginning of our film, we didn't get to finish filming because we didn't have time and we also had to do reruns of the scene, especially when I kept on messing up the lines.

 The Start of Filming

We had to carefully plan out how we were going to film our film sequence. We ran into a couple of difficulties because one of my group members couldn't film with us because his parents wouldn't allow him to go outside because of the pandemic so, we had to advise a plan on how we were going to film because he's a big part of the film sequence and also has the most important so, if we don't have him in the film it will be pitiful of us. So, we came up with a plan to have that member film himself separately and edit it in the film so it looked as if he was with us while recording. We also asked Franco to help with the editing since it won't be much work for him since he's not going to meet up with us to start filming our film sequence. The week of the filming we couldn't film because some people had some family problems at home so, we couldn't film for the week so, we had to push it back to the next week.

 StoryBoard

The storyboard consists of 6 different scenes of the film sequence. The first scene is me reporting an event that happened that was tragic and making it comical. The second scene will be JJ whose the second reporter covering another important event that happened early in 2020. The third scene is of Jadha reporting on the racism that is happening in America and how it has affected the African American community heavily. Then we get to the fourth scene and this will now be reported by Franco in his scene he will get up and close with BLM protest and will even be asking questions, basically asking questions. Then the fifth and sixth scenes, which are the dominant scenes of the film sequence. The fifth scene will be having JJ and Franco recreating the election that happened back in November and making it into a light-hearted joke. We will be having JJ as the representative of the democratic party then have franco a representative of the republican party, and I will be the moderator. All of the scenes will be humorous but not offense to not have to deal with the interpretation that this film will be full of judgments.

 SCRIPT

This is merely a sample of our script. We are proud of our script because we all decided to come together and lay together our ideas for the script. There is more to this script than what I just presented. Me and JJ will be the reporters of the film. Our inspiration from the news is CNN as it was one of the main news channels reporting on everything that took place in 2020.

Script Reader Pro in Best Screenplays to Read, et al. “15 Screenplay Examples From Each Genre to Download for Free.” Script Reader Pro, 2 May 2020, www.scriptreaderpro.com/screenplay-example/.

We used this script as an example of how the script format is going to appear like. My teacher also gives us another example of a script which we also used. I search images of scripts and saw that they were also utilizing the same format. All scripts incorporate the dialogue, transitions, parenthetical, characters and transitions. Our script makes or breaks a film as its one of the most significant parts of the film, so we made sure our script is brilliant.

 *Change Of Plans*

There a change of plan on how we are going to produce this film. My group has decided not to perform an animated opening because they felt like its going to take many months to create an animated opening. As an artist just trying to sketch out our opening will take a couple weeks, but now to take the sketch and try to make it real is going to consume more than 3 months. We also found out that a mix of horror and comedy is called a spoof. A spoof is "a mocking imitation of someone or something, usually light and good-humored" or a parody. We also changed the direction the movie will be proceeding, are setting is a news station and we will be broadcasting everything that took place in 2020. We will incorporate the election, the pandemic, the fires and etc.. Everything will happen in the news station while we transition into different scenes. Our inspiration at first was 'scary movie' and 'Bride of Chucky' but after some serious consideration we selected a different path. We are making sure that our film will be a light hearted comedy and mostly parody. When everything is done, our film will be up to par.

 Opening Sequence

An opening sequence in a horror film usually has a bloody title with a black background. They start the opening out with someone dying or running away from someone or something. The opening sequence in a horror movie starts off with a story and even a fairytale that becomes real. Meanwhile, a comedy opening sequence starts off with bubbly with a piece of joyful music playing in the background. The sequence starts off with someone doing something stupid it makes you want to laugh. Either someone is falling or someone is saying something funny but comedy opening sequences are very stereotypical. The opening sequence of comedy tells you everything you need to know about the film and how it's going to be like. Comedy and Horror will have different genres, one has to do with scaring people the other has to do with making people laugh, their total opposites. Even though they have many differences they are able to come together and make a good film. An opening sequence will reveal the story's tone or meaning because it trying to bring an audience and usually the viewers will base it off if they want to see the movie or not based on the opening sequence. The producer will try their best to make a fantastic opening sequence to match their genre and try to sway the viewer's mind in the right direction. That's probably one of the main things that producers focus on. The opening sequence will make or break a movie.

 Genre and Conventions

Researching Comedy: I did some research on comedy and I see every film that has comedy as a genre usually has a cheerful ending like "Girls trip" or even "Think like a man" and I even put into consideration that some comedies will even try to construct a message to the reader while still trying to bring laughter or joy to the audience. Comedy can be divided into many genres or even have a subgenre; that's why when you go search up the genre of your favorite comedy movie it usually has many other genres that can fall into a subgenre. Conventions of comedy are usually over-exaggerated situations, use severe situations as a way to bring in humor, and a happy ending. There are multiple types of comedies such as parodies an example all the "Scary Movie" franchise.

Researching Horror: Horror is totally the opposite of comedy, horror is usually used to put fear or frighten people. Usually, when people watch horror movies they do it for the thrill of it for example "Jeepers Creepers" one of the most known horror movies of all time has been watched by many for it brings fear which is amusement to some people. Horror has a unique feeling to it that just draws the viewer's attention. Horror also falls into many different genres or even have many subgenres. Psychological horror is the scariest horror genre in my opinion

 Practice Blog entry 2

I started doing research on what I want to incorporate for my opening. I watched so film opening and Birds of Prey was the first one to catch my eyes I like the genres it was focused on which were action and adventure. The opening starts off with everything looking like a cartoon and the main character Harley Quinn doing a voice-over with chronological order, which is what I want to do for my I want to do mine in chronological order but instead of cartoons I want to draw my character as an opening. It's like the start of "Diary of a wimpy kid" opening but for me everything it's going to be drawn. I want to incorporate mystery and comedy as my genres. Zootopia opening starts off comedic and mysterious having the bunny playing dead at a show when she was a child. I want my film opening to have birds of prey chronological order theme with 'Diary of a wimpy kid" mix in with "ZOOTOPIA" genre. The animation openings that I've seen are usually in anime and are very difficult to do. I watched many animes and saw that their film openings are what I want to do. Anime openings are animations in chronological order Tokyo ghoul an anime series, the opening starts off in chronological order even if theirs, not a voice-over the opening tells you how everything started in sequence. I will be using everything here as my inspiration for my film opening or at least an example. I will use anime the most because it's.  exactly what I want my film opening to be like. Using the genres of mystery and comedy will give my opening a chilling effect and the cartoon will make it have that chilling effect that I want as my mood.

 Practice Blog entry 1

What do all movies and T.V shows have in common? An opening credits. This blog post will be focusing on the opening credits. Opening credits are shown at the beginning of a film/show/T.V program and have a purpose for displaying the names of the cast, crew, producers, director, etc.
The opening credits are usually a still image but don't get it confused with a title sequence. "A title sequence is a special scene that takes place before the actual scenes of the movie start." don't get a title sequence mixed up with opening credits a title sequence can also set the tone of the movie." The pink panther" for example is very simple but it's one of the best title sequences ever made. The pink panther title sequence is a pink emerald turning into a pink panther. An opening credit is not a scene but instead a list of credit shown at the beginning. An opening credits the producers, cast members, and production. The techniques that can be employed in an opening sequence are the introduction of essential characters set the setting, film title, and incite the incident for instance the movie "Birds of Prey" has a fantastic film opening sequence that highlights the incident and gives you a chronological order of how everything first started. The film techniques are very important for the opening sequence because that's what the readers are going to use to distinguish whether they want to watch the movie or not.
